This wonderful art exhibit was somewhat of a lucky find for me compared to most of my photo outings. In search of a journal piece involving art in Northern Virginia, I decided to visit what seemed to be an unassuming art gallery in the Reston Town Center. Upon entering I was surprised, as you can imagine, to find the interior completely pitch black with no one at the front desk. Several steps into the main room and suddenly the sounds of whirring fans and pumps began, quickly followed by awe-inspiring lights. The exhibit featured the use of materials often thought of as trash to produce what felt like a living, breathing, atmosphere. I had a wonderful time getting to try out a few long exposures on the piece, I even came back with others in tow to relax.
